Tater Tot Casserole

The first recipe below for Tater Tot casserole was often served by with the Dugger family of "19 Kids and Counting" televisions fame. This filles two 9 by 13 inch baking pans and it serves 16 to 20 people. The second recipe below was published by the Ore-Ida, the maker of Tater Tots.

Dugger Family Tater Tot Casserole

Ingredients
- 2 pounds of ground turkey
- 3 (2 pound bags) of Tater Tots
- 2 (10-3/4 ounce) cans of cream of mushroom soup
- 2 (10-3/4 ounce) cans of cream of chicken soup
- 2 (12 ounce) cans of evaporated milk

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Brown the ground turkey and drain off all the fat. While the meat is cooking (and in a separate bowl) blend the two soups with the evaoirated milk. Spread the cooked ground beef in two 9 x 13 inch pans. Scatter the frozen, uncooked Tater Tots over the beef. Pour the soup mixture evenly over the beef. Bake 1 hour at 35 degrees. FOR 8 TO 10 SERVINGS: Cut this recipe in half and use one 9 x 13 inch pan.

Ore Ida Tater Tot Casserole

Ingredients
- 1/2 Package Ore-Ida Tater Tots
- 1/2 Cup Ore-Ida Chopped Onions (or finely choopped fresh onion)
- 1 Pound of Lean Ground Beef
- Salt and pepper to taste (optional)
- 1 Can Cream of Celery Soup Condensed

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Pray an 11 by 7 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. In a large skillet, Brown the beef with the onions until the beef is cooked through and the onions are tender. Drain the fat off the browned meat. Season with salt and pepper if desired. Spread meat in the prepared pan. Spoon soup evenly over the meat. Arrange Tater Tots on top in a single layer. Bake uncovered, at 400 degrees, about 45 minutes or until tater tots ar golden brown and the beef mixture is bubbly.
